The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion. - Camus

As someone who has little quotes that they believe to live by, this is one of them.

Because what is freedom when we have an unfree world?

What is it to rebel when you can't really be rebellious? It's to live. It's to become.

People can stop your actions. They can stop your thoughts. They can change your mind. Truly.

You want to join a flotilla? - It's dangerous. That might change your mind. Danger changes the mind.

And yet, there be flotillas. That's what's so beautiful about being free in an unfree world. Your movements can be restricted. Your actions can be restricted. You can't pay for things, right? You don't, maybe you don't have enough money. Maybe you're, you don't have the education for a better job, right? There's so many ifs, ifs, ifs. But they cannot restrict your being to be free. When danger does not stop you, when fear cannot compel you, that's freedom.

When your mind cannot be shackled by money or danger.

When your desire for change outweighs the desires that are emitting from the world.

When they say don't and you say why. When they say run and you say no.

When drones circle above your heads and you just point them out.

One of the best things you can do to fight that which tells you to run, tells you no, stop, hide, is to point it out. When you make something irrelevant, it becomes irrelevant. That's how you become free.

Your morals, your honor, your virtue outweigh the danger, the fear, the lack. And so to be free in an unfree world is to change your being, not your mind, not your location, not your... You can do it anywhere. You don't have to have money. You don't have to have a car. You don't have to be in the right state. You don't have to be the right color. You don't have to... You change your being. And this goes back to doing good. It is so radical to do good.

And it's terrifying to a system that wants you to stay afraid, to not understand, to hide. When you do radical good, it shoves in the face of that which wants you to be in fear. You are fearless. Becoming radically good is an act which shows you have transformed your being because you no longer fear. And so I wish well the flotillas. They are not in my thoughts and prayers, but my daily meditations.
